Staff at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital and Avera Medical Group O’Neill Clinic will screen all staff, patients, visitors and anyone else who is visiting the facility.

Symptom screening, along with a temperature check, will take place as an ongoing effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus. This new step adds to other restrictions already in place, which include:

  • Visitors are limited to immediate family only with one visitor allowed per patient.
  • Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 who seeks care should call 402-336-2900 before they come to the clinic or hospital. If you have a cough, a fever more than 100 degrees or trouble breathing, or had exposure to someone with COVID-19, call prior to visiting the clinic or hospital.
  • Anyone who does not need to visit the facility is asked to refrain for visiting.

The public is reminded that the Avera Farm and Rural Stress Hotline at 800-691-4336 is available for those who wish to talk to a skilled mental health professional. The calls are free, confidential and available 24/7.

“These are challenging times, and anxiety can often come with them,” said Avera St. Anthony’s Director of Nursing Amy Langan, RN, MSN. “We encourage anyone who needs it to use the hotline. There are resources available – you’re not alone.”
