CASA Of Elkhorn Valley Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser to Support Local Foster Youth

O’NEILL, NE – May 1, 2026 – CASA Of Elkhorn Valley is launching a community shoe drive fundraiser from May 1 through July 1, 2026. The organization is collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes to raise critical funds for the advocacy of abused and neglected youth currently in foster care.

How the Fundraiser Works
● Collection: Community members donate shoes of all sizes and styles.
● Weight Equals Funds: Partner organization Funds2Orgs will issue a check to CASA based on the total weight of the collected footwear.
● Direct Impact: Every dollar earned goes directly to supporting foster youth and empowering CASA volunteers.

Where to Donate
You can drop off your shoe donations at two convenient locations in O’Neill:
● CASA Of Elkhorn Valley Office: 115 N 5th St, O’Neill, NE
● O’Neill Chamber Of Commerce Office: 125 S 4th St, O’Neill, NE

A Global Win-Win
The donated shoes do more than help local children; they create global economic opportunities. Funds2Orgs redistributes the footwear to micro-enterprise partners in developing nations. These small business owners sell the shoes to feed, clothe, and house their families, creating sustainable jobs where economic opportunities are limited.
“We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Monica Huber, Executive Director. “We know most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate. By doing so, we raise money for CASA of Elkhorn Valley and help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
