Spencer, Nebraska, will host a historic event as The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., arrives to honor the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. From August 28 through September 1, 2025, this powerful memorial will be on display at the Spencer Baseball Field, offering a unique opportunity for our community to reflect, learn, honor those who served, and pay tribute to over 58,000 men and women who sacrificed their lives or went missing during the Vietnam War.

The event will officially open at noon on August 28th, and remain open 24 hours a day through 8:00 am Tuesday morning, September 2nd. The Moving Wall brings the power of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to communities across the United States.  The memorial is not just a tribute to the past, but also an educational opportunity for future generations to understand the profound impact the Vietnam War had on our country and its veterans.  It also offers a moment of healing.

The Moving Wall will be an opportunity for those who lived through the war, as well as future generations, to understand the sacrifices made by those whose names appear on the wall. It is also a chance for us to honor the courage, resilience, and enduring spirit of our Vietnam veterans and ensure that the sacrifices they made are never forgotten.
