O’Neill, Neb., May 20, 2026 – “Take what you need. Leave what you can.” That’s the spirit behind the Little Free Pantry dedicated today in O’Neill. Black Hills Energy partnered with CASA Of Elkhorn Valley to provide this critical community-powered resource to those in need.

The Little Free Pantry in O’Neill is one of several being installed across Nebraska and Iowa as part of an employee-led project to design, build and install more than two dozen pantries in communities across the Black Hills Energy service areas.

“We are proud to support the Little Free Pantry movement, a free community resource that helps neighbors access food and essential items when they need them most,” said Andy Storf, general manager at Black Hills Energy. “Little Free Pantries are community based and built on trust, kindness and local support. They are available 24/7, and anyone may use the pantry at any time, no questions asked.”

“Embodying the spirit of ‘neighbors helping neighbors’, we invite everyone to take part,” said Monica Huber, Executive Director of CASA Of Elkhorn Valley. “Together, we can ensure our families have the essential resources to stay healthy and safe. This Little Free Pantry belongs to the entire community; we encourage you to donate nonperishables and check in occasionally to help us keep it clean and well-stocked.”
