The O’Neill High School Band has earned the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association’s “Excellence In Academic Achievement” Award for the 2025-2026 school year.
Requirement for this honor is that the high school band needed an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
This is the 4th time in 5 years the band has achieved this accomplishment. The award was presented to the band at the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association’s award banquet on Friday March 6th in Lincoln.
“These students care about their grades as much as they love making music. This is a true testament to their efforts inside the classroom. Their academic success does not go unnoticed and it was great to earn the Excellence in Academic Achievement Award once again.” commented director Chad Dean.
