2026 St. Pat’s Celebration

SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH

5 pm – Mr. Irish Contest at the old O’Neill High School Gym

 

MONDAY, MARCH 9TH

 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm – IRISH O’NEILL – LEGENDS AND LORE – St. Patrick’s Day is on its way, but do you know who, what, and why we celebrate? Take a crash course in Irish history, including the backstories that brought people to Holt County and O’Neill. Then, hear the inside stories of how O’Neill’s celebration evolved, from the 1880’s through today, with names, dates, and of course, all the best blarney!  Take this class taught by an old-school insider and never be called a Plastic Paddy again!  Mon., March 9, 6:30-9:30 pm, Room 123. Instr. Ranchland Art Group will open its annual Member Art Show at the O’Neill Public Library. The show will run through May 4th.

5:30 pm – Irish Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony at the corner of 4th and Douglas Streets

6 pm – Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Ceremony at the corner of 4th  and  Douglas Streets, immediately following the Irish Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony

6:15 pm – The Painting of the World’s Largest Shamrock

6:30 pm – Free Will Donation Pork Feed at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee – Sponsored by the Irish Walk of Fame

7 pm – Irish Chug Run 2026 – Race starts at Neko’s Pub

7:30 pm – Following the Chug Run and Pork Feed – Jordan Michael Peterson Live at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee

8 pm – Dave Merkel live at Hooligan’s Pub

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 12th

11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm – Neko’s Pub Kitchen will be open

5:30 pm to 7 pm – Miles From Dublin will be performing traditional Irish Music at the O’Neill Community Center.  Sponsored by the O’Neill Friends of the Library

7 pm – St. Pat’s Trivia at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee

7 pm – Karaoke/DJ at Hooligans Pub

9 pm to 2 am – Dave Merkel at Neko’s Pub

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 13TH

10 am – Chamber of Commerce Coffee at Pinnacle Bank

11 am to 2 am – Neko’s Pub kitchen will be open – They will be serving biscuits and gravy from midnight until the bar closes

4 pm – Bloody Mary Bar opens at Hooligan’s Pub

4:30 pm – Greening of the Pond at the Carney Park Gil Poese Recreation Area – Sponsored by the O’Neill Fenians and the O’Neill Fire Department.  Bring the kids!

5 pm to 7:30 pm – Shamrock Fun Run Packet Pick Up at St. Mary’s High School – 300 N. 4th Street

5 pm to 7 pm – O’Neill Knights of Columbus Fish Fry at the KC Hall in West O’Neill.  They will be serving baked fish, fried fish, French fries, baked potato, mac & cheese, coleslaw,  dinner roll.  Dine in, drive through or carry out.  $14 for adults, $8 for children

5 pm to 7:30 pm – “Spud Fest” Fresh Baked Potato Bar at the O’Neill Assembly of God Church located at  204 N. 7th Street

6 pm to 8 pm – Singles Speed Dating (pre-registration required, text SINGLE to 336-1612) at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee in the Handlebend Building

6:30 – Doors open at the O’Neill Community Center for the John Michael Hinton, Magician, Storyteller, Redhead Show

7 pm –Live Music by Craig Roger at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee

7 pm – John Michael Hinton Show at the O’Neill Community Center, Free Family Event. Sponsored by Faith Community Church

7 pm – DJ at Hooligan’s Pub

SATURDAY, MARCH 14TH

7 am to Noon – Pancake and Sausage Feed, free will donation, at the Society 36 Building  (Back side of the Blush Boutique at 3rd and Douglas Streets) Everyone Welcome!  Sponsored by the O’Neill Methodist Church.

8 am to 9 am – Shamrock Fun Run Packet Pick Up at St. Mary’s High School – 300 N. 4th Street

9 am – 3 pm – The Historical Society’s Kinkaid Museum will be open at the corner of 4th and Douglas Streets

9:30 am – Kids 1 Mile Run starts at St. Patrick’s Church – sponsored by the O’Neill Rotary Club

10 am – Shamrock Fun Run starts at St. Patrick’s Church – sponsored by the O’Neill Rotary Club

10 am – Bloody Mary Bar opens at Hooligan’s Pub

All Day at Dirty Hands Tap House and Coffee – BBQ Brats will be served

10 am to 4 pm – Double Play Apparel Pop Up St. Patrick’s Day Store at Dirty Hands Tap House and Coffee Shop.  Apparel, engraved items, and souvenirs will be available.

11 am to 2 am – Neko’s Pub kitchen will be open

Noon – O’Neill Irish Dancers on the World’s Largest Shamrock

12:30 pm – Introduction of the Irish King and Queen, Dignitaries, and the Parade Grand Marshall

1 pm – Grand Parade through Downtown O’Neill

2 pm to 4 pm – C.L.A.S.S. Kids Carnival at the Faith Community Solid Rock Youth Center  Located at 415 N. 9th Street

2 pm to 5 pm – Bounce Houses at the St Mary’s Gym, $10 per child, sponsored by the Holt County Shooting Sports

2 pm to 5 pm – Lucky Leprechaun’s Search for the Missing GOLD!  Family fun adventure Maze in the Dirty Hands Coffee Shop Drive thru/parking lot.  In the event of inclement Weather, including high winds or precipitation, this event will be postponed and Advanced purchases will be refunded or credited to the rescheduled performance.

2 pm to 6 pm – DJ Sean Throckmorten at Neko’s Pub

3 pm – Family Movie (Free Will Admission), at the O’Neill High School Gym, sponsored by the O’Neill Lions Club.  Use the Activities Entrance, and concessions will be available.

3 pm to 10 pm – Free shuttle will be running from O’Neill to Harte’s Pub in Inman.  The shuttle will pick up and drop off at Dirty Hands Tap House & Coffee.  Harte’s will have food available, with proceeds going to the O’Neill Leprechaun Youth Sports.

5 pm – Mass at the newly renovated St. Patrick Catholic Church, 330 E. Benton Street

5 pm to 9 pm – WESTON FRANK LIVE at Harte’s Pub in Inman

6 pm – T Cole DJ at Hooligan’s Pub

9:30 to Noon – Holt County Economic Development Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Public Tradeshow at the O’Neill Community Center

 

Teal’s Westside Dining will be open 24 hours starting Friday, March 13th at 7am until Sunday, March 15th at 8pm.  Specials will be Friday – Bangers and Mash, Saturday – Corned Beef and Cabbage, Sunday – Irish Pub Sandwiches.  They will have Dublin Coddle Stew and Irish Colcannon Soup available through the weekend.
