The O’Neill FFA Chapter attended Area Range Judging at Knox County on September 18th. The members had to name three different plant lines, characterize three ground sites, and complete a ranch map with questions. We had great results! The Senior Division placed 6th as a team and the individual placings were: Mollie Corkle- 14th, Colten Shoemaker- 24th, Kaitlyn Hinrichs- 26th, Braxen Sorensen- 28th, Wade Krysl- 31st, and many more following. The Junior Division placed 18th as a team with some individuals including: Lynn Miner- 44th, Amanda Pongratz- 53rd, Karsyn Fox- 69th, Barrett Troester- 85th, and Ethan Cooper- 117th.
Many members also got the opportunity to compete at state in Springview on September 24th, and they did excellent! As a team they placed 13th, and out of 200 students, some of the individual scores were: Zach Buller- 17th, Mollie Corkle- 48th, Braxen Sorensen- 55th, Suhani Chaudhari- 66th, and Colten Shoemaker- 80th. Several sophomores and freshmen also improved their skills in each contest, and we look forward to their continued success in the years to follow. Junior division competitors were: Lynn Miner- 163rd, Cassidy Scofield- 178th, Ki Fonseca- 212th, Holden Fick- 215th, and Josie Bradshaw- 220th. O’Neill FFA will continue to be active by preparing for LDE’s. Our chapter also has the annual Fall Jamboree coming up on October 4th at Shamrock Nursery and the Labor and Pie Auction on October 19th at 4:00. We hope to see many people at those events!
