The Mount Marty University Women’s Track and Field team had a strong showing at the WSC Wildcat Indoor Opener on Friday, December 5, 2025, securing two first-place finishes and multiple top-three placements.
Zelie Sorensen, a senior, from O’Neill, NE, set a new Dome Record, winning the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.37. Sorensen also brought home third in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:00.26.
Zelie is the daughter of Aaron & Jodi Sorensen of O’Neill, NE.
The team was particularly dominant in the sprinting events, where they claimed the top spots in the 200m and 400m dashes.

Zelie Sorensen (Sr) won the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.37D, setting a new Dome Record. Alexis Even came in second place in the 200 M with a time of 25.68.

Alexis Even (Sr) won the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 59.79. The Lancers also had numerous place finishes in the 4oo M with the following, Zelie Sorensen (3rd), Whitney Wollberg (5th), Hannah Killinger (6th), Taylor Hinojosa (9th) and Talize Anderson (12th).
The Lancers will travel to Seward, NE on December 12th to compete in the Concordia Early Bird Track & Field Meet.
