Nebraska really is the Volleyball State!! And if you take a look at the NCAA Volleyball Tournament brackets you will see two Nebraska teams in Division 1 and two Nebraska teams in Division 2 and one team in the NAIA Volleyball playoffs. The great news is that all five teams play in-state this week.
In Division 1, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are hosting the first and second rounds at John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. Here’s that schedule:
First Round – Friday, December 5
4:30 pm San Diego vs Kansas State (ESPN+)
7:00 pm Nebraska vs Long Island (ESPN+ & Huskers Radio Network)
Second Round – Saturday, December 6
7 pm First Round Winners play each other (ESPN+)
In Division 1, the Creighton Bluejays will host the first and second rounds at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha. Here’s the schedule:
First Round – Thursday, December 4
4:30 pm Utah vs Northern Iowa (ESPN+)
7:00 pm Creighton vs Northern Colorado (ESPN+)
Second Round – Friday, December 5
6:30 pm First Round Winners play each other (ESPN+)
In Division 2, the University of Nebraska Kearney Lopers will host the NCAA Division II Central Region Volleyball Tournament. And along with UNK, another Nebraska team, the Wayne State Wildcats, will also participate in this tournament. Here’s the schedule:

4:00 pm – Wayne State/Washburn winner vs Concordia SP/Central Oklahoma winner
7:00 pm – UNK/Oklahoma Baptist winner vs St. Cloud/Missouri Western winner
Third Round – Saturday, December 6
5:00 pm – Championship Match
And we also get to add the Concordia (Seward) Volleyball Team as another Nebraska Volleyball Team in postseason play. They are playing in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
Wednesday, December 3 they defeated Dakota West 3-sets-to-2, and their Pool play will continue on Friday, December 5, when the Bulldogs will clash with No. 14 The Master’s University (Calif.).
