Tri-County Titan Seniors Secure Win Against Stanton

ORCHARD – The Tri-County Titan Seniors were victorious against Stanton 13-9 on Thursday, June 12.

Stanton got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Logan Tiedtke grounded out, Aaxel Spence singled to the left side of the infield, and Packer Hogrefe stole home, each scoring one run.

Stanton then added one run in the second after Grant Bruggeman singled to center field.

The Tri-County Titan Seniors flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Coy Wickersham that drove in two.

Stanton responded in the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-8.  A double by Grant Bruggeman did the most damage as the hit drove in three.

The Titans then had another big response in the fourth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 13-9. The biggest moment in the inning was a single by Dane Miller that drove in two.

Ryan Rifer earned the win for Tri-County Titan Seniors as the pitcher allowed eight hits and nine runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking six. Austin Claussen took the loss for Stanton. The starter went two and one-third innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking four. Isaac Hoferer collected the save.

Cash Wickersham led the Titan Seniors with two hits in three at bats. Dane Miller, Isaac Pavlik, and Cash Wickersham each drove in two runs for Tri-County Titan Seniors. Coy Wickersham paced Tri-County Titan Seniors with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. A.J. Hobbs, Coy Wickersham, Jake Schroeder, Cash Wickersham, and Connor Thomson each stole multiple bases for the Titans. Tri-County stole 14 bases in the game and were sure-handed while not committing a single error.

Grant Bruggeman provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Stanton with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-5 on the day. Aaxel Spence collected two hits for Stanton in four at bats. Austin Claussen paced Stanton with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Austin Claussen and Aaxel Spence each stole multiple bases for Stanton. Stanton ran wild on the base paths, collecting 11 stolen bases for the game.
