GRAND ISLAND – The Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island hosted the B-4 District Golf Tournament on Monday, May 19th.
The teams competing in the B-4 District Golf Tournament were Ashland-Greenwood, Central City, Lakeview, Elkhorn North, Holdrege, Lexington, McCook, Nebraska City, Northwest, O’Neill, Plattsmouth, and Scottsbluff!
The Elkhorn North Wolves had a really impressive day as they finished with a team score of 302 to take the District Championship! The Wolves were led by Andrew Nietfeldt who finished with a round score of 69 and earned an individual district runner-up. Tyler Nietfeldt wasn’t far behind as he placed 4th to finish in the top 5! Kaden Ellis was the final medalist for the Wolves to help secure the win shooting a 77 to place 9th.
The O’Neill Eagles had their best performance in school history in a district tournament, but unfortunately finished in fourth place as a team and just missed the cut to go to state. The Eagles did have one qualifier though as James Eby finished in the top 10 to earn a berth to the Class B State Tournament next week. Eby shot a 77 to finish in a two-way tie for 10th individually!
The Class B State Golf Tournament will be played at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering, Nebraska next week on Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th!
