Junior High Lady Eagles Finish their Season in Ord

ORD – On Thursday, May 1st the JH Lady Eagles traveled to Ord to finish their season on the track and in field. The Eagles finished the day in a tight race for 4th place but found many accomplishments along the way.

Brianna Kallhoff won the combined Shot Put with a throw of 30’ and got 6th place in the Discus with a personal record of 69’ 09”. Jozy York earned the runner up medal in the Discus with a throw of 83’ 07” and 3rd place in Shot Put with a throw of 29’ 1.5”.

In other field events, Blakely Sudbeck won the combined High Jump clearing 4’ 10”. Reese Boetcher was not far behind clearing 4’ 8” for a personal record and earned 2nd place in the event. Sudbeck also found her way to the medal stand in Long Jump with a jump of 14’ 4” to earn herself 3rd place. In the Triple Jump, Addison Engelhaupt had a fantastic day with a personal best of 28’ 6.5” and got 5th place.


Reese Boetcher

It was a big day for the Lady Eagles on the track with three new entries in the O’Neill Junior High record books. Kiarra Kennedy led the way breaking the school record and earning 2nd place in the 800M run with a time of 2:31.29. She now holds the overall title in the 800 for O’Neill Junior High which was previously held by Alejandra Vergara in 2010. Two relay teams also found themselves in the record books with their times. The 4×100 Relay team of Blakely Sudbeck, Taylee Wade, Madisyn Eichelberger & Addison Engelhaupt now sits 4th overall in with a time of 54.80. They also earned themselves 2nd place in the event. Finishing up the day was the 4x400M Relay with the team of Marissa Grosch, Madisyn Eichelberger, Addison Engelhaupt & Kiarra Kennedy. The team ran a 4:35.16 to secure a 3rd overall spot in the record books and a 1st place finish on the day.

The JH Lady Eagles had an excellent season with many top finishes on the year. They will await the final overall state results to determine if any athletes finish in the top 25 individually or top 16 in relays to qualify for the JH State Track Meet in Gothenburg on May 17.
