O’Neill – North Central Junior Keian Fischer has been named KBRX’s Stadium Sports Top Dog Athlete of the Week!
In 4 events since May 11th, Keian Fischer has placed 2nd or better in each of them! In the Highway 20 Invitational from Bassett Country Club, Keian defended his home course by not just an individual championship – shooting a 71 (-1) – but also helping lead the team to a championship as well (321)! The next day, Fischer competed at the West Holt Golf Invite and was a runner up individually shooting a 75 (+3), just one stroke behind 1st place. Then at the Valentine Golf Invite on the 14th, Keian shot a 75 (+2) and another runner-up finish, just two strokes behind 1st place. And, with a trip to state on the line, Keian kept that momentum rolling into the D-3 District Invite from Ainsworth, shooting another 71 (-1), picking up the individual D-3 District Championship along with helping lead the team to a D-3 District Championship, too (334)! Fischer and the North Central Knights will compete in the Class D State Championship from Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus, NE next week on Wednesday and Thursday, May 27th and 28th!
