Class D-3 District Boys Golf Invite Results

Ainsworth – The D-3 District Boys Golf Invite took place on Monday, May 18^th and it featured quite a few area teams competing for a chance at the Class D State Boys Golf Meet at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus, NE Wednesday, May 27^th! The top 10 individual scores will automatically qualify for state along with the top 3 teams from each district!

Keian Fischer and the North Central Knights were both 1^st place finishers, individually and team respectively! Fischer shot a 71 (-1) to cap off a great start to post season golf, helping lead the Knights to a D-3 District Championship, and a trip to state with a team score of 334! Riar LeZotte was right being him, finishing in 2^nd with a 78 (+6)! Brandt LeZotte shot a 92 (14^th place), Blaine Frizzell finished with a 93 (15^th place), and Zachary Wiebelhaus shot a 106 (39^th place).

The CWC Renegades finished in 2^nd place with a team score of 361, qualifying for the Class D State Championship as a team! Carter Metschke shot a team low – 83, good for 4^th place! Jasper Metschke finished with a 90 (12^th place), and Daniel Kluver (17^th place) & Michael Jesse (19^th place) each shot a 94!

The Neligh-Oakdale Warriors found the podium and the last qualifying spot for the Class D State Boys Golf Championships with a team score of 376! Logan Lichtenberg led the Warriors with an 8^th place finish, shooting an 89! Reid Furstenau finished in 11^th place with a 90. Wyatt Koinzan shot a 98 (26^th place), Tyler Furstenau shot a 99 (27^th place), & Andrew Henery finished with a 101 (32^nd place).

Other area individual state qualifiers include Stuart’s Colin Heiser, he shot a 78 and finished in 3^rd place. Kason Larson of Burwell shot an 84, good for 6^th place. Jaxon Rucker of Ainsworth, he shot an 89 and finished in 9^th place. Cash Wickersham of Niobrara/Verdigre rounds out the top 10, finishing in 10^th place and qualifying for the Class D State Golf Meet from Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus, NE
