Zelie Sorensen, a senior on the Mount Marty Lancers Womens Track Team has done it again. This time at the Mt. Marty Last Chance Meet that was held Friday, February 13, 2026, in Yankton, SD.
Sorensen broke two records that she already held. Friday in Yankton she turned in a time of 7.71 in the 60 M Dash, her previous record in that event was 7.77. Then in the 200 M Dash she clocked in at 25.35 breaking her previous record of 25.37.
With her time in the 200 she has qualified for the Nationals in that event. Nationals will be held March 5 & 6, 2026 in Gainesville, Florida, but prior to that she will be competing in the GPAC Indoor Championships at Sioux Center, Iowa on February 20 & 21, 2026.
Zelie is the daughter of Aaron & Jodi Sorensen of O’Neill and is a 2022 graduate of O’Neill High School.
