O’Neill – Summerland Senior, Jason Shaver, and O’Neill Senior, Bergyn Classen, have been named KBRX’s Stadium Sports Top Dog Athletes of the Week!
Bergyn continues to play at a high level this season, helping lead the team to a great road victory over EPPJ! Classen finished with 26 points on 9/17 shooting, 6/6 from the free throw line, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal! Classen has stepped up in every facet of her game this year, and has been a senior leader for the O’Neill Lady Eagles, helping them start the season 15-2 and securing a 1 seed in the Mid State Conference Tournament!
Jason Shaver has had a lot of success in his Senior wrestling season, and he added another notch by finishing as the B215 GNAC Champion! Shaver won all three matches by fall, the first match in less than a minute and the semi-final in 2:16. In the championship match against Kyptin Collier of Hartington-Newcastle, Collier tied it up at 5-5 before Shaver pulled off a reversal and eventually winning the match by fall!
