
O’Neill – Summerland Senior Ryan Rifer and West Holt Junior London Konrad have been named KBRX’s Stadium Sports Top Dog Athletes of the Week!
In London’s last two games she played at a high level on both offense and defense, nearly recording back-to-back double-doubles! In West Holt’s 65-38 victory against Hartington-Newcastle, Konrad finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds, & 2 assists, shooting 5/9 from the field, 3/3 from the free throw line and was responsible for guarding Hartington-Newcastle’s best player. To follow that up, in West Holt’s 62-31 win vs Valentine London recorded 11 points, 15 rebounds, shooting 5/10 from the floor and added an assist. The junior recorded her first double-double of her career, then was asked to guard Valentine’s best player as well, holding her to 4 points on 1/11 shooting! Congratulations to London on her great performances!
Ryan Rifer helped lead the Summerland Bobcats to a Summerland Holiday Tournament Championship, scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist in their 66-49 victory over Ainsworth in the opening round. In the championship match against Wakefield, Ryan proceeded to break the Summerland HIgh School record for individual scoring and rebounds in a single game – finishing with 36 points, 14 rebounds, and he added 4 assists as well, helping the Bobcats defeat Wakefield in overtime, 71-66! KBRX would like to recognize Ryan’s performances and give him his rightful props!
