Ainsworth – The Ainsworth Cross Country Invite featured plenty of local runners, including a 1st place finish in the boys race individually and as a team! Will Nelson of Boyd County brings home the individual championship with a time of 18:31.26, which helped the Spartans secure the gold in the team standings! Ethan Zeisler finished in 5th (19:07.83), Issac Jensen finished in 10th (19:56.77), Brook Strom right behind him in 11th (20:01.83), Hayden Warnke in 19th (20:57.01), Aidyn Garwood in 20th (21:12.09), & Alex Lechtenberg finished in 36th (24:30.51).
The North Central Boys finish in 3rd place and were led by Nate Frick (2nd place – 18:43.53) and Layton Deibler (12th place – 20:09.02) in the top 15. Andrew Rowan finished in 21st (21:14.29), Trevor Keller in 27th (22:28.89), Erik Bearnson in 32nd (23:08.01), & Solomon Pyle in 43rd (28:38.77).
The West Holt Lady Huskies finish in 2nd place, and it was another great showing for the team. 4 Lady Huskies finished in the top 15: Felycia Kerkman – 5th (22:53.34), Ava Hoffman – 10th (24:07.07), Kearsten Keogh – 13th (24:24.56), & Anel Monasterio – 15th (24:54.49). Yazmin Zamora just missed the top 20 (21st – 29:03.21)
