
ORCHARD – Wednesday’s game against Albion Seniors was a heartbreaker for Tri-County Titan Seniors, as they lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two in the top of the seventh when Carter Molt hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Tri-County Titan Seniors lost despite out-hitting Albion six to four. Dane Miller led the Titan Seniors with two hits.
Tri-County opened the scoring in the second after a stolen base home scored one run.
Albion captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth after Kaden Miller singled to right field, and Brock Schmeits laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.
Ryan Rifer singled to center field, which helped Tri-County tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.
Keaton Hunt earned the win for Albion as he gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Ryan Rifer took the loss for Tri-County as he went seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking three.
Rifer went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Brock Schmeits, Carter Lueken, Kaden Miller, and Cole Lyon each collected one hit for Albion. Brock Schmeits, Carter Molt, and Kaden Miller each drove in one run for Albion.
Tri-County Titan Seniors will travel to Atkinson for their next game on Thursday, July 3rd. Then next on the schedule is a game at Plainview seniors on Wednesday, July 9th.
