
O’NEILL – The Tri-County Titan Juniors could not keep up with the Post 93 Pinnacle Bank Juniors in a 5-1 loss on Thursday.
The Irish got on the board in the second inning after Justice Blecher singled, scoring one run. The Irish then added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Max Berg doubled down the left field line, and Drake Berg grounded out, each scoring one run.
Lane Boelter earned the win for the Pinnacle Bank Irish as the starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking four. Jacob Pierzina took the loss for the Titans. The righty went six innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking two.
Isaac Hoferer and Levi Hoferer were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Tri-County while hitting back-to-back. Landon Nelson led Tri-County with one run batted in. Landon Nelson paced Tri-County with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game.
Lane Boelter and Nate Brown each collected two hits for the Irish. Drake Berg, James Eby, Nate Brown, Max Berg, and Justice Blecher each drove in one run for O’Neill. Max Berg stole two bases.
