The O’Neill Travel 10U baseball team traveled to the Wayne Tournament and took home 1st place, going 4-0 for the weekend.

The weekend started with an 8-1 victory over Malcolm and a 10-5 win over North Bend. Both games saw impressive pitching performances. Against Malcolm, Tugg Ickes and Jude York combined to strike out 18 batters, allowing only 2 hits. While Bryce Novak started on the mound against North Bend, striking out 13 in 4-and-two-thirds innings.

On Sunday, Koy Sibbel threw a complete game two-hitter against Logan View, leading the Irish to a 13-2 victory, and a spot in the Championship game. Ickes started the Championship game against Milford, throwing a complete game, giving up 2 runs, and striking out 12 batters.

Offensively, the bats were hot all weekend, with timely hits from the entire team, highlighted by three in-the-park homeruns (two from York, and one from Renner Sudbeck), two two triples each from Ickes and Novak, and three hits apiece from Sibbel, Sudbeck, and Owen Barelman. Everett Banks led the team with 8 RBIs on the weekend.

This is the fourth time the 10U team has earned a top finish in a tournament. They recently took 2rd place at the Oakland tournament, 2nd in a Pierre, SD tournament, and 3rd place in the Wakefield Wooden Bat Tournament.
