Tri-county Titans Stymied By Valentine Juniors

ORCHARD – Tri-county Titans Juniors couldn’t keep up with the Valentine Juniors and fell 14-3 on Sunday.

Valentine Juniors got on the board in the top of the first inning after Trace Buechle doubled to center field, and Parker Chavez singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.

Valentine added three runs in the second after Isaac Cronin tripled down the right field line.

Valentine Juniors scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Jekhi Williams tripled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Trystan Beebout singled, scoring one run, Isaac Cronin singled, scoring one run, Trace Buechle singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.

Parker Chavez earned the win for Valentine Juniors. The left-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking four. Jacob Pierzina took the loss for the Titans. Pierzina went two innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.

Jason Shaver drove the middle of the lineup, leading Tri-county with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Pierzina, the Titans number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats.

Valentine piled up 13 hits in the game. Trystan Beebout led Valentine with four hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Isaac Cronin went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Parker Chavez and Trace Buechle each collected multiple hits for Valentine. Parker Chavez and Isaac Cronin each stole multiple bases for Valentine. The Valentine Juniors ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game.

Tri-county will travel to Albion Post #162 for their next game on Tuesday, June 10th at 5:30 pm.
