
ORCHARD – Coy Wickersham collected three hits in three at bats, as Tri-County Titans seniors defeated Atkinson 10-1 on Friday, May 30 in Orchard. Coy Wickersham singled in the third inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Wyatt Shabram struck out 14 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also surrendered one hit and one run over five innings while walking one.
Atkinson was the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.
Tri-County Titans took the lead in the bottom of the second. Jason Shaver doubled, scoring two runs, to give Tri-County the lead, 2-1.
Tri-County added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Coy Wickersham singled to left field, and Tri-County scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
The Titans scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Cash Wickersham drew a walk, scoring one run, Riley Saul grounded out, scoring one run, Connor Thomson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Wyatt Shabram doubled, scoring three runs.
Drake Nemetz took the loss for Atkinson. The hurler went four innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out 10 and walking two.
Jason Shaver and Wyatt Shabram each drove in two runs for Tri-County Titans. Coy Wickersham stole two bases. Tri-county Titans stole eight bases in the game.
