LEIGH – The Club 91 Golf Course in Leigh, Nebraska hosted the 2025 Class D District D-2 Tournament on Monday, May 19th.
The teams competing in the D-2 Tournament were Archangels Catholic, Bancroft-Rosalie, Bloomfield, Clarkson-Leigh, Creighton, Fullerton, GACC, Hartington-Newcastle, Howells-Dodge, Humphrey-Lindsay, LHNE, Lyons-Decatur Northeast, Osmond, Randolph, Santee, and Wausa. The top 10 individuals and top 3 teams advance to the Class D State Tournament next week!
The Creighton Bulldogs had a dominate day at the Club 91 Golf Course as they finished 17 strokes better than the runner-up Bloomfield Bees. The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 341. Leading the Bulldogs to the win was Creighton Junior Calvin Wilmes with a 78. Wilmes paced the tournament as he finished as the District Champion! The Bulldogs also had another medalist as Teegan Burns finished 3rd individually shooting an 82! The Bulldogs will head to the Class D State Tournament with the team of Wilmes, Burns, Ethan Kuhlman, Ethan Kuhl, and Jonathan Condon! The Bulldogs head coach is Daryl Ladeaux.
The Class D State Tournament will be hosted by the Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus and will be a two day tournament on Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th.
