HARTINGTON- The Hartington Golf Club hosted the Hartington-Newcastle Golf Invite on Tuesday, April 29th.
The teams competing at the Hartington-Newcastle Invite were Battle Creek, Crofton, Creighton, Cedar Catholic, Hartington-Newcastle, Laurel-CC, Pierce, Plainview, Ponca, Osmond, O’Neill, Randolph, Wakefield, and Wausa.
The Cedar Catholic Trojans won the invite with a team score of 334 to edge out the O’Neill Eagles by two strokes. Leading the way for Cedar Catholic was Langsten Christensen as he finished as the invite runner-up shooting an 81. Toby Heine rounded out the top 5 as he shot an 82 to place fifth. Cedar Catholic did have one more golfer finish in the top 15 as Memphis Ulrich shot an 83 to place tenth.
The O’Neill Eagles finished as the team runner-up shooting a 336 as a team. Logan Brabec and James Eby both shot an 81 to finish 3rd and 4th, respectively. Drake Berg was the next best finisher for the Eagles, but he missed out of the medalists shooting an 86 to place seventeenth.
The Creighton Bulldogs had a nice day at the Hartington Golf Club as they shot a 339 as a team placed third. The Bulldogs were led by Ethan Kuhlman as he shot an 82 to place sixth. Galvin Wilmes also earned a medal for the Bulldogs as he shot an 83 to place twelfth. Teegan Burns rounded out the medalists for Creighton as he placed fifteenth shooting an 84.
