O’NEILL – The O’Neill Golf Club hosted the 2025 O’Neill Golf Invite on Wednesday, April 23rd.
Ten total varsity teams competed at the O’Neill Golf Club. Golfers enjoyed fair weather on the day with temperatures getting into the 60’s with minimal wind. The teams competing at the O’Neill Golf Invite were Ainsworth, Cedar Catholic, CWC, Elkhorn Valley, Hartington-Newcastle, North Central, O’Neill, Ord, Valentine, and West Holt.
Winning the O’Neill Invite was the O’Neill Eagles as they finished 28 strokes below runner-up Ord with a team score of 316. Leading the Eagles and earning the individual championship was sophomore Logan Brabec as he shot a 73 to pace the field. Turner Heiss wasn’t far behind as he placed 4th individual shooting a 79. James Eby missed the top 5 as he shot an 80 to place 6th individually. The final medalist for the Eagles was Drake Berg as he placed 12th shooting an 84.
The West Holt Huskies earned a 3rd place finish as a team shooting a 345 and finishing just 1 stroke away from the Chanticleers. The Huskies were led by Nick Hansen as he shot an 84 to place 9th. Dominick Ogden also earned a medal for West Holt as he shot an 85 to place 13th.
Other area medalists included the individual runner-up William Jesse from CWC. Jesse Shot a 79 for the Renegades. North Central’s Keian Fischer placed 3rd as he shot a 79 as well.
