O’Neill Junior High Girls Compete at the Boone Central Middle School Invite

O’NEILL – On Monday, April 14th the O’Neill Lady Eagles Junior High Track team traveled to Boone Central to participate in the Boone Central Middle School Invite. The Eagles fared well in the windy conditions.

Gold medals from the Eagles included Blakely Sudbeck in the 8^th Grade Girls 100M Dash with a time of 13.58. Sudbeck also secured the gold in the High Jump clearing 4’ 10”. Brianna Kallhoff earned 1^st place in 7^th Grade Girls Shotput with a throw of 28’ 8.5”. Kallhoff also took home 2^nd place in the 7^th Grade Girls Discus with a throw of 64’ 10.5”. Tandi Shoemaker came in 3^rd in the Shotput throwing it 24’ 1” and she also secured 5^th in Discus with a toss of 60’ 3”.

Other top performances in the field include Jozy York earning 4^th in the 8^th Grade Shotput with a throw of 29’ 05” and 3^rd in the Discus throwing it 91’ 10”. Khloe Way found her way to the medal stand in the 7^th Grade Girls Long Jump with a jump of 12’ 5” earning her 5^th place. Blakely Sudbeck took home the silver in the 8^th Grade Girls Long Jump jumping 14’ 9”. Reagan Lindsay cleared 6’ in the 8^th Grade Girls Pole Vault earning her 4^th place. 7^th Grade High Jump for the Lady Eagles was led by Jaidyn Owens who cleared 4’ to earn herself 2^nd place.

The Eagles also had a few more top finishes on the track as well. Zooey Hilger and Lianna Murphy found success in the 7^th Grade hurdle events. Hilger took home 5^th place in the girls 100M hurdles with a time of 21.76 and 3^rd place in the 200M hurdles running a 37.77. Lianna Murphy came in 4^th behind Hilger with a time of 38.07. Jaidyn Owens earned another medal in the Girls 7^th Grade 200M Dash with a 5^th place finish and a time of 32.07. In the 8^th Grade 200M Dash Taylee Wade earned 4^th place running a 31.05. Hailey Gartner ran the 100M dash in 14.84 to earn 4^th place in the 7^th Grade Division. Gartner was joined by the team of Madisyn Eichelberger, Lianna Murphy & Marissa Grosch to earn 2^nd place in the 7^th Grade Girls 4x400M Relay with a time of 5:11.10.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22nd competing at home in the O’Neill Jr High Invite.
