O’Neill – The Atkinson-Stuart Country Club hosted the 2024 West Holt Golf Invitational on Saturday, April 27th.
Eleven varsity teams competed at the West Holt Invite as the teams competing were Ainsworth, Boyd County, Creighton, EPPJ, Neligh-Oakdale, Niobrara-Verdigre, North Central, O’Neill, Stuart, Summerland, and West Holt.
Winning the West Holt Invite were the O’Neill Eagles with a team score of 334 which bested the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors by 17 strokes. The Eagles had four total medalists on the day. Leading O’Neill was Logan Brabec as the freshman shot a 78 to earn the individual championship. James Eby also placed in the top 5 with a 5th place finish shooting an 83. Jackson Larsen earned a top 10 finish for O’Neill as he shot an 85 to place 8th individually. Rounding out the medalists was Drake Berg as he shot an 88 to place 14th!
The Neligh-Oakdale Warriors finished as the West Holt Invitational runner-up with a team score of 351. The Warriors saw three golfers finish in the top 15 to medal. The best finish came from Senior Chase Furstenau as he placed 3rd shooting an 81. Bryson Gadeken and Corbin Hoefer each shot an 86 to place 11th and 12th, respectively.
