All Week – Daily FFA Trivia in the Ag Room – Ag Coloring Contest (Pre-school – High School divisions)  – Guess the number of corn kernels challenge

Wednesday – FFA Member Breakfast

Thursday – Agriscience Fair

Thursday – Community Open House and Luncheon: 11 – 2 in the Ag Building

Summerland FFA Chapter 2022

SUMMERLAND “FFA WEEK” ACTIVITIES

They are doing a “Kiss a Goat Penny War” contest with all grades and staff. Proceeds will go to the Ewing, Orchard, and Clearwater volunteer fire departments.

Dress up days:

Monday- hat day
Tuesday- Camo day
Wednesday- Western day
Thursday- Throwback Thursday
Friday- Blue and Gold day

Daily activities:

Monday- Donuts or cookies for students and staff in the commons in the morning
Tuesday- Nothing planned
Wednesday- Drive your tractor/ag vehicle to school
Thursday- Teacher appreciation snacks and coffee bar in the workroom
Friday- Pep rally in gym from 2:30-3:24 for K-12. We will announce winners of the kiss a goat/lamb contest and have activities for 7-12 grade students.

  • 7th and 8th graders will have a barrel racing contest. Each grade will choose 3 members to run around the cones “barrels” on the court with a stick horse between their legs. The grade with the quickest time wins.
    • kids suggested Carol play organ music like she does for the Clearwater Rodeo?
  • 9-12 dodgeball tournament
    • They would limit time of each game to 3-5 minutes to keep it moving.
      • Freshman vs. Juniors
      • Sophomores vs. Seniors
        • winner vs. winner
        • Overall winner vs. staff if staff is willing?

Elementary will have a coloring contest all week and the winner in each grade will be announced at the pep rally as well.

Stuart “FFA WEEK” ACTIVITIES

National FFA Week Activities: 

Activities taking place throughout the week include:

  • Trivia contests
  • Hidden FFA Emblems
  • Commodity Guessing Games
  • Coloring Contest for the Elementary Grades
  • Member Appreciation Breakfast
  • Teacher Appreciation
  • FFA or Ag Theme Days

On Monday –Coloring Contest kicks off for Elementary Grades, FFA members are also asked to dress in Blue and Gold.  State FFA Officer Victoria Ference of the Ord FFA Chapter will visit Ag classes throughout the day.  We will also be having the last night of Proficiency Worknights from 4:00 – 7:30 PM.

On Tuesday – Teacher Appreciation as well as Bronco Power or “Horse Power” Day.  Members are asked to wear Bronco apparel or tractors/equipment t-shirt.

On Wednesday – FFA Officers visiting KBRX Radio.  FFA members are asked to dress up like Farmers, Flannel, or American Day (FFA).

On Thursday – FFA Member Appreciation Breakfast sponsored by the Stuart FFA Boosters in addition to Thursday being FFA T-shirt Day.

On Friday – Drive your Agriculture Implement to School Day. Coloring Contest concludes.  Friday is Agriculture Hat or Cap Day

ROCK COUNTY FFA WEEK ACTIVITIES

Monday the 21st

  • No School
  • Emblem Search
    • Parts of the FFA emblem will be hidden around Bassett. Members are invited to search for the parts of the emblem and take a photo with them. You can have up to 5 people on a team. Each team member must be in the picture with the emblem they found and email them all together to Ms.Walmsley. The first team to finish gets one entry per person in the grand prize drawing.

Tuesday the 22nd

  • Dress up day: Anything but a backpack
    • Get creative, bring your school supplies in anything but a backpack
    • Best dressed gets one entry for the grand prize drawing
  • Food Drive starts
    • Members are asked to bring non-perishable food items and put them by a picture of an officer or Ms.Walmsley in the shop. The officer or Ms.W’s pile with the most perishable items by the end of the week will get pied in the face.
  • Corn Hole Tournament!
    • Details TBA, most likely the competition will be throughout the day during each class.
    • This event winners will get one entry for the grand prize

Wednesday the 23rd

  • Dress up day: Official Dress Day
    • Best dressed gets one entry for the grand prize drawing. However, you can not change out of official dress during school or you will be out of the drawing.
  • Chapter Photo
    • All members will get together for a chapter photo in their official dress. Time TBA
  • State officer Visit
    • A Nebraska FFA state officer will be here!

Thursday the 24th

  • Dress up day: Dress like your Ag Teacher
    • Best dressed gets one entry for the grand prize drawing.
  • Breakfast potluck
    • Members are invited to bring their favorite breakfast dish or treat to Ms.W’s room for a chapter potluck! Best tasting dish gets one entry for the grand prize.
  • Class Community service
    • During class, all members will complete a community service project.

Friday the 25th

  • Dress up Day: Hawaiian Shirt Day
    • Best dressed gets one entry for the grand prize drawing.
  • Chapter Assembly
    • This is where we will draw for the grand prize, and pie the officer or Ms.W that got the most votes for a pie in the face.
