Whitney Watson
O’Neill – The O’Neill Lady Eagles finished 3rd at the District C-2 cross country meet held on Thursday, October 11th, earning a spot as a team at the State Cross Country Meet. Leading the O’Neill squad were individual qualifiers Whitney Watson, who finished 11th, and Faith Williamson, who finished 15th. Watson Ran the 5k course in 20:45, while Williamson finished in a time of 21:04.
The Eagles finished with 53 points to secure third behind Columbus Scotus (21 Points) and Boone Central/Newman Grove (33 points).
The top 15 individuals and top 3 teams in each district qualify for state in cross country. The Eagles will compete in the Class C State Championship at the Kearney Country Club, which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 19th.
