The Nebraska Department of Transportation advised that, weather permitting, work is scheduled to resume on March 28th on Highway 281/South 4th Street in O’Neill, from the city limits at the south edge of town to Douglas Street. Work this year will primarily be in the southbound traffic lane. The left lane on Highway 20 will be closed between 4th and 5th Streets to accommodate truck traffic. The anticipated completion is mid-June.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near the work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down. Stay tuned to KBRX for additional notifications.
NOTE: Traffic will temporarily be reduced to a single lane, from just south of the railroad tracks to the north for approximately 200 feet. Traffic will be maintained with “Yield to Oncoming Traffic” signs. This will go into effect on Monday, March 28th for approximately two weeks.
