Location of Accident: Approximately 1.5 miles west of Chambers on Hwy 95
Details: At approximately 2245 on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2020, Melissa Hood of Huron, South Dakota, was westbound on Hwy 95. Hood was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban. At approximately 1 1/2 miles west of Chambers, Hood encountered several head of black cattle on the highway. Hood was unable to avoid hitting the cattle. The Chevy Suburban was totaled due to impact. Three head of cattle were found dead at the scene. Hood and her two passengers were attended to by Chambers Fire and Rescue. No injuries were reported.
