Tasha’s Top 5: September Events

September and October are my FAVORITE months! I love the chill in the air and the crisp smell. I try to take advantage of the perfect weather and get out each week. I won’t lie, you’ll probably get one of these Top 5 events to attend each month, so you won’t miss the must attends.

If you love outdoors, ribs, and Huskers, we have the events for you! There are two rib cook-offs coming up in September. The first will be September 14th in Orchard sponsored by the Orchard Young Men’s Club and Orchard Economic Development Association. 1. 2nd Annual #WeRunforAmber Memorial 5K

If you know me, you know I’d throw a running-related event in the Top 5. Head out to Bassett this Saturday at 9:00 AM for the 2nd Annual #WeRunforAmber Memorial 5K. The event will be held at the Rock County High School. It’s held in memory of Amber Frerichs. All proceeds from the event will be split with the Amber Frerichs Memorial Scholarship and the Zak Palmer family.

  1. Springlake Angus 3rd Annual Craft and Vendor Fair

As much as I HATE to admit it, the holidays are coming! Support local business women and men as they set up at the Springlake Angus Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, September 21st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. More than 25 vendors will be there, and remember, these are local people you are supporting. Springlake Angus is located north of O’Neill at 50475 887 Rd, Lynch, Nebraska 68746.

1.Tandem Skydive

What better way to get out and enjoy the crisp air than hurdling toward the Earth!? I’m dead serious here. Skydive Crete will be at the Atkinson- Stuart Airport on September 27th through the 29th. I’m a wimp, but I’m seriously considering going (to watch!). There are limited spots, so call Jack Flannery at 402-340-0388 or Scott Dvorak at 402-304-8802 to sign up. Please let me know if you do decide to do this as I’d love to watch it!

There are so many things going on in the KBRX area in the coming weeks. Get out and enjoy them! If you happen to take any pictures, please email them to kbrxdoghouse@gmail.com as we’d love to share them with our KBRX listeners. You can also email me your ideas for Top 5! Until next week!
