The weather cooperated and Verdigre Elementary held their first READ ACROSS VERDIGRE on Monday, May 13. Students in grades K-6 visited seven businesses Monday afternoon. Each student received a passport that was stamped as they visited each business.
They visited Schreier Lumber, Creative Creations, The Verdigre Eagle, Tom’s FamilyFoods, Sucha Repair, Pinnacle Bank, and The Verdigre Bakery. Each business told about their business and read a story and stressed the importance of reading and math and how they use those two subjects in their business every day.
Each student received a book to take home for the summer and the books were provided by READ ALOUD NEBRASKA.
