Robyn Isom To Represent Page American Legion At Cornhusker Girls State

The Page American Legion Auxiliary Post # 315 has selected Robyn Isom as their 2016 Cornhusker Girls State representative. Robyn is the daughter of Rod and Joni Isom of Page, NE. She is the third of the Isom children to be selected for this opportunity.

Robyn is a junior at O’Neill Public High School and was selected as a representative of the Page Auxiliary Post #315 by submitting an essay that exemplified high moral values and a strong desire to take part in the Girls State program. She is a member of and active in O’Neill Irish Dancers, FCCLA, FFA (Officer), Speech, One-Act and Musical Crew, National Honor Society, St. Patrick’s Youth Group, and O’Neill High School Volleyball Team.

The Cornhusker Girls State will be held in Lincoln, NE the week of June 5-11. For this week, Robyn will get to experience the American government by role-playing, campaigning for offices, holding elections and hearing many guest speakers. She will have the opportunity to tour the state capitol and also to participate in band or choir exercises.

Girls State is a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed organization that only the most qualified high school juniors are selected to participate in. It offers many opportunities, including scholarships and community recognition. The participants will have the opportunity to grow as individuals, as well as develop socially in order to become strong-functioning citizens in our nation.
