February Private Pesticide Training Dates Announced
Nebraska private pesticide applicators seeking first-time certification or recertification in 2013 to use or purchase restricted-use pesticides can get training through University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension.
A private pesticide applicator license is required by any farmer/rancher or employee who purchases and/or apply restricted use pesticides such as Grazon-P+D or atrazine for example on their own or employers property to control pests. To become certified individuals a required to attending a local training. The certification is valid for 3-years following the training which has a $30 cost with an additional payment of $25 following the training to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. All applicators are licensed through the Nebraska Department of Agriculture who is also responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations associated with restricted use pesticides.
For individuals certifications expiring in April should be receiving a letter with a list of training dates in the mail within the next week.
