2015 Cattlemen's Ball To Be Held Locally

The Cattlemen’s Ball Inc., Advisory Board has announced that the Tom Herzog and Kim Schweers’ Ranch, near Redbird, 4 ½ miles south of Lynch, will be the site for the 2015 Cattlemen’s Ball on June 5th and 6th, 2015. Planning is currently underway to make this event one that north central Nebraska will remember for a long time. The largest annual event in the State of Nebraska, the Cattlemen’s Ball is held to support cancer research and contribute to local public health projects.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed for this weekend in 2015. If you are interested in helping out on one of the many committees, you are asked to attend one of two kick-off meetings this month.

The first meeting will be Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at 3 PM at the Lynch Community Center. The second meeting will be Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at 7 PM at the Holt County Economic Development Office in O’Neill, located in the Depot building in south O’Neill.

Host family for the event will be the Tom Herzog/Kim Schweers family. Co-chairs for the event area Stephanie Boettcher of Spencer; Kelly Kalkowski of Lynch; Nicole Sedlacek, Scott Poese and Deb Hilker, all of O’Neill.

The Cattlemen's Ball of Nebraska, Inc was established in 1997. The annual event promotes beef in a healthy diet, showcases rural Nebraska, and raises money for healthcare research. The profits benefit the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and local healthcare.
