National HS Rodeo Finals Results

The National Finals of the High School Rodeo season began Sunday, bringing hundreds of contestants to Rock Springs, Wyoming to compete. Among these were a number of area Nebraskans, who qualified for Nationals by way of the State Finals.

The National Finals consisted of two rounds that span six sessions each (referred to as performances) and the short go-round on Saturday evening. Each contestant competed twice during the week, with points being awarded to the top 20 in each event per round. The top 20 in the average qualified for the short go, which was held Saturday night and determined the final standings.

Here are the results for all of the area competitors that we followed. Only Brook Jamison qualified for the short go, and wound up 12th in that round as well as the overall standings of the breakaway roping.

That brings an end to the high school rodeo season. The NHSRA season has a short turnaround though, as the new season will begin in about a month.
