WELL WATER SCREENING


The Upper Elkhorn NRD will be screening private drinking water wells for nitrates during the upcoming Holt County Fair.  Anyone interested in having their water checked should plan to bring a cup of water in a clean container on Friday August 7 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Stop by and visit the NRD booth, spin the prize wheel and order your trees for the upcoming season.

Sunday, June 7th through September


The Village of Page will be sprayed for mosquitoes every Sunday evening through September starting on June 7.   

Atkinson Public Library


The Atkinson Public Library 2015 Summer Reading Program will end on August 3rd.  The library has free tickets to the Omaha Storm Chasers baseball game in Omaha on Sunday, August 2nd or Monday, August 3rd.  Please call the Atkinson Public Library or stop by the library to take advantage of this great offer. 

O'NEILL PUBLIC LIBRARY


ANAC Travel Show is now on display at the O'Neill Public Library. It will be on display for the next three weeks.

Anyone that exhibited during Summerfest at the O'Neill Public Library is please reminded to come and pick up your display at the front desk of the library.

CONSTRUCTION ON HYNES AVE


Construction on Hynes Avenue between 9th & 10th Street will begin Wednesday, July 29th.  The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.  This will be closed to all traffic starting Wednesday, July 29th.

FRIDAY JULY 31ST


Boating Safety Course offered on July 31st from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holt County Annex meeting room at 128 N 6th in O'Neill.  State law requires this class for anyone born after December 31, 1985 that is at least 14 years old.  The requirement is for those that will be operating a motorized water craft (boats, personel watercraft or any motorized watercrafts) on any Nebraska waters.  The cost is $10 for a life time license.  This is a pre-study class.  To study for the 3 hour review/test out session you will need to go to http;//outdoornebraska.ne.gov/boating/guides/boating/bgeducate.asp Get the study materials and study before the class to be able to test out.  You will also need to call Donna Robinson at 402-416-3139 and register for this class.  If you are unable to download the material, please contact Donna to mail a book to you. 

The wrap up lunch for Summer Reading Program participants of the Orchard Library will be Friday, July 31st at 11:30 a.m.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 1ST


The O'Neill graduating class of 1995 is having a class reunion on Saturday  August 1st, 2015. They will be having a family day in the park, at the Ford park (swimming pool park) from 2-5 pm. Dinner and drinks will follow around 7pm at Chesterfield West in downtown O'Neill. Please RSVP for dinner. Other classmates that wish to see and talk with the class of 95, please stop down and join us at Chesterfield's after dinner. District #46 Sunny Brook School Alumni Reunion will be held Saturday, August 1st at the school located 10 miles south of Ewing.  All alumni and family members are invited to attend.  There will horse and cart rides for the kids from 5-6 p.m., dinner from 5 to 8:30 p.m. of Pork sandwiches and potato salad, guests please bring a salad or a dessert to share.  There will be a slide show, presentations and music and dance.  Please bring your own lawn chairs and beverages.  In case of rain the reunion will be held at St. John's Parish Hall 1 mile east of the school. 

SUNDAY AUGUST 2ND AND MONDAY AUGUST 3RD


The Atkinson Children's Theater will be performing Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids on Sunday, August 2nd at 2 p.m. and Monday, August 3rd at 7 p.m. at the Atkinson Lecture Hall. Tickets are $5/adult and are available from any cast member.  Tickets can be purchased at the door as well. 

MONDAY AUGUST 3RD


The Atkinson/Stuart Food Pantry will be held Monday, August 3rd from 2 to 5 p.m. in Atkinson and 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Stuart.  Please bring back your bags and call Linda with any questions at 402-340-2273

The Orchard Public Library will be showing "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" on Monday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. and snacks will be included.

The St. Boniface 4-Person Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, August 9th starting at Noon.  It will be $200.00 a team which will include 9 holes of golf and a Prime Rib Meal.  Meal only tickets can be purchased for $25.00 serving from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Atkinson-Stuart Country Club.  Tickets can be purchased at the Tri-County Bank in Stuart and Atkinson or at the rectory.   If you would like to sponsor a team, donate a flag prize or sign up a team please contact Becky Estill 402-340-9498 or Jared Wolf 402-340-7213.

SUNDAY AUGUST 16TH


Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill will be sponsoring their Annual Christ Light Kick-Off Sunday, August 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the O'Neill Swimming Pool.  Christ Light is our midweek program for Preschool through 8th grade, we will have more information that evening for new comers.  This program is open to everyone that would like to attend.  We have classes almost every Wednesday evening through the school year, 5:30 p.m. is supper and we encourage the entire family to eat together then classes start at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.  Come join us for an evening of swimming, fellowship and fun.  Hope to see you at the pool!
