SUMMERFEST


The t-shirts are here for Summerfest!  Please stop down at the Chamber of Commerce office while supplies last!  Also remember to buy your rodeo tickets in advance, the tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids under 12.  At the gate tickets will be $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Sunday, June 7th through September


The Village of Page will be sprayed for mosquitoes every Sunday evening through September starting on June 7.   

Summer Reading at the Spencer Library


Summer Reading  at the Spencer Library on July 6th, the 13th, 20th & the 22nd at 1 p.m.  On the 13th of July The Teacher Rangers will present an outreach program for libraries. 

L BAR B STEAKHOUSE


L BAR B Steakhouse and Lounge in Clearwater will be closed through Thursday, July 9th. They will reopen at normal time on Friday, July 10th. 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 8TH


There will be a Boating Safety Class at the Atkinson Fire Hall on July 8th & 9th starting at 7 p.m. both nights.  There is a $20 fee to cover the cost of materials.  You must attend both nights to successfully complete the course.  Please pre register so we have the correct number of materials on hand by calling 402-340-0359.  Anyone born after December 31, 1985 must complete this course to be able to legally operate a boat or a jet ski.

The O'Neill Country Club Ladies League will host their annual Women's 9-Hole Scramble on Wednesday, July 8th.  Tee-off begins at 5:30 PM.  This scramble is open to the public.  Teams of two for $30/person, which includes a team mulligan, prizes and supper.  To sign up, please call the OCC at (402) 336-1676.  Any additional questions can be directed to Tracy Dennis at tracy@growholt.com.

The O'Neill Knights of Columbus will meet on Wednesday, July 8th at 8:30 p.m. at the KC Hall in west O'Neill.  Remember they meet regularly on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. 

There will be a special meeting of the O'Neill Eagles Club on Wednesday, July 8th at 7 p.m. at the Aerie in downtown O'Neill.  Please note the 7 p.m. start time.  All aerie and auxiliary members are encouraged to attend and are reminded that their dues must be current before they can vote at this meeting. 

THURSDAY JULY 9TH


There will be a Holt County Weed Board Meeting Thursday, July 9th at 7 p.m. at the Holt County Weed Department, 1804, 108th Road in O'Neill. 

SATURDAY JULY 11TH


The 35th Annual North Star ABATE Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 11th.  They will leave North Star in Dixon SD between noon and 1 p.m. If you have any questions or would like more information please call 605-830-1535

Ewing American Legion's Annual BBQ will be held Saturday, July 11th at St. Dominic's Hall from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Serving BBQ Beef and Pork and salads for a free will offering.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

SUNDAY JULY 12TH


The Rosedale Covenant Church Summer Sizzler will be held Sunday, July 12th starting at 5:30 p.m. with a Wiener Roast and Supper being provided.  The speaker is Dale Phelps and that will begin at 7 p.m. with Smores afterwards. 

There will be a Surprise Birthday Party for Sandra Shald on Sunday, July 12th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Blaine and Vanessa Drueke residence at 24296 Havelock Ave in Alvo, NE.  All birthday cards sent will be presented to Sandra at the party. Summerfest Art Show


The Ranchland Art Group is taking entries for the Summerfest Art Show.  Original photography, paintings, drawings or 3 dimensional art is welcome. Please bring your artwork to the O'Neill Public Library on Saturday, July 11th or Monday, July 13th.  The show will be displayed Tuesday, July 14th through Friday, July 24th.  Entry fee is $2 per piece of art.  Proceeds will go to the O'Neill Public Library.  If you have any questions please call Ranell at 402-340-1751

Vacation Bible School


Vacation Bible School at First Christian Church in O'Neill.  Free and open to the public for preschool-6th grade.  Monday, July 13th through Thursday, July 16th.  Supper is from 5 to 6 p.m. with VBS from 6 to 8 p.m.  Bring a friend with you and get a pop to drink with supper! Dance Camp is coming to O'Neill July 13th through July 17th from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.  Learn different steps with fun combinations of Jazz, Hip-Hop and Ballet.  It's for both boys and girls ages 7 to 17!  For more information contact Tiffani at 402-340-1146

SATURDAY JULY 18TH


There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive at the O'Neill Community Center on Saturday, July 18th during the Summerfest Vendor Fair.  The blood drive will run 9-3 and if you would like to donate you can call 402-340-4990 to make an appointment.  Walk ins are welcome

FRIDAY, JULY 24TH


The Orchard Glow Run will be held Friday, July 24th with a start time of 9:30 p.m.  Meet at Hammer Insurance at 8:30 p.m. for glow sticks, t-shirt and instructions.  Proceeds benefit OC Cyclones Booster Club and OC Girls Basketball team.  Sponsored by Hammer Insurance and Antelope Memorial Hospital.  If pre-registered by July 17th cost is $15 without a t-shirt and $20 with a t-shirt.  Glow sticks are included in the price.  Registration after July 18th is $20 T-shirts not included. SATURDAY JULY 25TH


The Ball Backers in Plainview are having a CO-ED Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 25th.  Entry fee is $150 and 2 softballs.  There will be a beer garden and concessions. MONDAY, JULY 27


Faith Community Church in Creighton is holding Vacation Bible School from July 27 through July 31 for pre-kindergarten through 6th grade children. Hours will be from 9:30 to noon each day, and there is no cost of attendance. For more information call Emily at 402-360-1263.
 

FRIDAY JULY 31ST


Boating Safety Course offered on July 31st from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holt County Annex meeting room at 128 N 6th in O'Neill.  State law requires this class for anyone born after December 31, 1985 that is at least 14 years old.  The requirement is for those that will be operating a motorized water craft (boats, personel watercraft or any motorized watercrafts) on any Nebraska waters.  The cost is $10 for a life time license.  This is a pre-study class.  To study for the 3 hour review/test out session you will need to go to http;//outdoornebraska.ne.gov/boating/guides/boating/bgeducate.asp Get the study materials and study before the class to be able to test out.  You will also need to call Donna Robinson at 402-416-3139 and register for this class.  If you are unable to download the material, please contact Donna to mail a book to you. 

Atkinson Head Start 2015/2016 School Year


The Atkinson Head Start Center is taking applications for the 2015/2016 school year.  Clients must bring copy of income verification documents (most current income tax form, or a year's worth of paycheck stubs etc.) to attach to the completed application form.
Children must be 3-4 years old to be eligible.  Children with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.  It is not necessary for children to be present for the application process.
