The Orchard Public Library will be holding a Used Book Sale Saturday, April 18th through Saturday, May 2nd.


The Bartlett Cemetery will have a work weekend on Sunday, April 19 from 9 am to 5 pm.  They will be setting up flag poles and all help will be appreciated.
Chambers American Legion is having a Pancake, sausage, & scrambled egg feed this Sunday, at the Legion Hall, from 5 to 8 PM. FREE WILL DONATION. Money going for Boy Stater and Chambers Memorial Park.


The North Central Wiremen’s Association will be meeting on Monday, April 20 at The Hideaway in O’Neill. Social Hour begins at 6:00 pm followed by the meal at 7:00 pm.  The program will cover 3 hours of Code.  Members are asked to bring a code book and calculator and be prepared to work through code problems.  Reservations can be called in to Schindler Electric at 402-336-2027 or Niobrara Valley Electric at 402-340-8156

There will be a meeting of the Forestry Board of the City of O'Neill on Monday, April 20 at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. The agenda for this meeting may be viewed City Clerk's office at 401 East Fremont in O'Neill.


The Holt County Support Group for the Visually Impaired will meet on Tuesday, April 21st at 1:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Assisted Living Center in O'Neill.  The speaker will be visiting nurseTherese Muller, from Switzerland. Are you ready for battle? We're all in a spiritual battle. Pat Anson will be speaking at the April Flame meeting, dubbed "The Battle" on Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 PM at the Faith Community Church in O'Neill. She will be giving us weapons we need for battle. Don't miss it! 

The mobile food pantry, sponsored by We Care, Inc, will be dispersing food on Tuesday, April 21, beginning at 5:30 pm, at the O'Neill Community Center. We are always blessed with a wide variety of food, and plenty of it. Our goal continues to be to provide food for those whose needs are great and whose resources are limited. Volunteers are needed and appreciated anytime from 4:30 til 7:30.    


O'Neill Health Fair will be held Wednesday, April 22nd from 5:30 to 8 a.m. at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.  Call 402-336-2611 for more information

The Avera Angels will be serving Biscuits and Gravy for a free will donation during the Health Fair Blood Draws on April 22nd at the hospital.  This is a great time to take some preventive measures to stay healthy while supporting a great cause. Proceeds will go to the Relay for Life of Holt County.


There will be a Spaghetti Supper and Silent Auction on Friday, April 24th at the Stuart Auditorium from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $6 minimum per plate and free will donations will be accepted.  Donations can be mailed to Stuart Community Foundation Fund, PO Box 85, Stuart NE 68780.  If any businesses or individuals would like to donate cash to cut down on cost of food and supplies,we would greatly appreciate it.  Also, we are accepting donations for the silent auction. The Stuart American Legion, Norton-Carlisle Post #115 will have a Fish Fry, Saturday 25 April 2015 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Cole slaw, French fries, beans and a desert will be served. Preschool is free, Kinder garden to 11 is $5,00, 12 and over is $8.00. 


The Oakdale Fire Department will be holding their 6th Annual Gun Show, April 25th and 26th at the Commnity Center in Oakdale. The show will run from 9Am to 5PM on Saturday and 9AM to 4PM on Sunday. Good Food will be served, admission is $4 for adaults, and kids are free with an adult. Preceeds from this show go to buy equipment for the Fire Department. Relay for Life of Holt County Committee and Team Captain Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 29th at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at Cubby's.  We are "Cruising for a Cure" this year and we need your help. Please help us Finish the Fight by starting a team, getting involved on the planning committee or becoming a sponsor.  Don't forget to register if you are a cancer survivor and be our honored guest. The O'Neill Rotary Club is presenting the Holt & Boyd County Girls on the Run Event on Friday, May 8th at 5:30 p.m. at Ford Park in O'Neill.  On site registration will be held from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. that day.  Cost is $25 to register that day and does not include a shirt.


The O'Neill Head Start is currently taking applica;tions for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.  This is for a morning class only. We serve children ages 3 and 4 in our Preschool.  Children with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.  There is no cost for your child to attend Lucky Learners.  If interested please call 402-336-4309 to schedule a time to fill out an application.

Atkinson Head Start 2015/2016 School Year

The Atkinson Head Start Center is taking applications for the 2015/2016 school year.  Clients must bring copy of income verification documents (most current income tax form, or a year's worth of paycheck stubs etc.) to attach to the completed application form.
Children must be 3-4 years old to be eligible.  Children with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.  It is not necessary for children to be present for the application process.
Your cooperation in coming to the Head Start Center to put in your application will be appreciated.  For more information call the Head Start Staff at 402-925-2058 or stop in at 406 East 2nd Street Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Head Start is a comprehensive child development program sponsored by Central Nebraska Community Services, Loup City, NE.
