THE BAR

Angels' is a full-service bar with over 20 different kinds of domestic and imported beers and over 80 different types of liquors, in addition to a fine selection of your favorite wine.

OUR FOOD

For those of you who do not drink, you can still come down and see us!  We serve hamburgers and cheeseburgers, cooked over an open-flame.  Also enjoy pizza and a full selection of pop and non-alcoholic beverages.

BAIT AND TACKLE

Angels' is also a full-service bait and tackle shop.  Check out the selection of fishing gear that is targeted towards the Niobrara River catfish, along with an assortment of tackle geared toward many of the local ponds.  We also have an excellent selection of live bait for the summer fishing season.

OUR CAMPING

Angels' has recently added a 6 pad campground.  All pads have their own full hook-ups for potable water, septic drop and either 30 or 50 amp electrical service.  Trash service is provided, and tent camping is free.  Phone service is also available for those needing to stay for an extended period of time.

TUBE RENTALS

Angels' rents inner-tubes for floating down the Niobrara River, one of the swiftest rivers in the United States.  Tubes can be rented for a the nominal fee of $3.00 per day.  We can also make suggestions as to good pick-up points for any length of trip.

ENTERTAINMENT

Angels' strives to be your entertainment headquaters.  Check out our Calendar of Events to see when our next "Party Night" is.  We have provided many forms of entertainment including live bands, karaoke, arm wrestling, and even a hypnotist.  We even hold large outdoor parties.  If you are an entertainment provider contact us first!

The parents of the current owners had owned and operated a small bait and tackle shop and bar until a tornado destroyed the store on October 26th, 1996.

Construction of Angels' Straw Bale Saloon was started in June of 1997.  It was a time consuming process as all labor was provided by the owners and the funding was minimal.  The bar was completed in December of 1999 and the doors opened on December 31st, 1999.

Radiant thermal heat was installed in the concrete floors, followed by a post-and-beam structure with a complete roof before the walls were ever started.  Straw bales were then stacked from the floor to the roof, and pinned together as they went up.  Doors and window bucks were set into place as the walls went up.  Once the stacking was complete, the walls were smoothed, wrapped in chicken wire and then stuccoed with a concrete stucco.  Interior walls were then finished with sheetrock compound and painted.  Interior finishing includes the rough-cut beams used for the framework, exposed cedar poles, a wood cathedral ceiling and cedar trim.  One of the main focal points of the bar is the hand-built cedar front and back bar.  All cedar and pine used in the bar was harvested locally.
