How is it the end of October already?! It’s time for all things spooky! There’s no need to go elsewhere for your dose of fear as we have plenty to do in the KBRX listening area. Here are my Top 5 area Halloween happenings.
5. Trick or Treat
There will be several places to visit for Trick or Treating. The O’Neill Public Library will be hosting their 5th Annual Trick or Treat event on Saturday, October 26th. The event will be from 3:00 to 6:00. Good Samaritan Society-Atkinson/Prairie Winds will also host trick or treaters on Thursday, October 31st from 3:00 to 6:00. Dress up for each event to get your grab of the candy!
4. Chills & Thrills
The O’Neill Satellite Rotary Club is continuing to host its Chills & Thrills haunted trail event this weekend. The theme is Beetlejuice. The trail will open this Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26th at dusk. This Saturday, the event will include a kid’s carnival and free will donation meal sponsored by the Holt County Animal Shelter at 5:00.
3. Boo & Booze
Come help raise money for the Chambers Splash Pad with a Halloween Extravaganza on Saturday, October 26th. The event will feature a costume contest, games, music, dance, and drinks. Doors open at 7:00 with the dance from 9:00 to 1:00 for a $5 admission.
2.Boyd County Spooktacular
The Body County Shooting Sports is hosting the Boyd County Spooktacular on Saturday, October 26th! From 3:00 to 10:00, there will be activities for all ages. A kid-friendly haunted house will run from 3:00 to 5:00 and an event for older kids and adults will run from 7:00 to 10:00. The event will be for a free-will donation.
1.Trunk or Treat
Why walk around and freeze when you can get all of your Halloweening done in one place? Trunk or treats invite participants and attendees to join in the fun. Participants set up their vehicles with a theme and attendees get their treats all in one spot! Below are area trunk or treat events.
Atkinson: Located at the Atkinson Community Center, this trunk or treat will take place on Thursday, October 31st from 5:30 to 7:30. Call Faith Wesleyan Church at 402-925-2193 to reserve a spot or just stop by to get some treats!
O’Neill: The O’Neill Assembly of God’s Trunk or Treat will be on Thursday, October 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 at the O’Neill Community Center. The event will also have soup and beverages for a free-will donation. To reserve a spot and have a chance to will $200 in Shamrock Bucks, call 402-336-2272.
Chambers: Come to the Chambers Community Center on Thursday, October 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 for free hot dogs, candy, and trunk or treating!
