The Atkinson Livestock Market has been sold according to Diane Tasler who with her late husband Mike owned the market.

The new owners are Wes Kilmurry, Tad Judge, and Chris Skrdla. Kilmurry will manage the market and Judge will be assistant manager.

The sale was announced last week with June 1 the transition date.

“In the next few weeks we are hoping to bring more investors in (to the market.) We are trying to stay local and will talk to local ranchers and feeders,” Kilmurry said.

“We feel there is potential to grow Atkinson Livestock Market,” he said. “It is important to the community and brings a lot of business into our town. We are all new at this so we’re learning from Cliff Pacha, who with all his experience (former part-owner of the Atkinson Livestock Market) is our advisor.”

Kilmurry said everything remains as is for the present. Sales will continue as scheduled. Hay sales will probably start up in the fall, he said.

The Sale Barn cafe will continue to serve breakfast and dinners each week day.
