Over the weekend there was a lot going on at the Panhandle High School Rodeo event. Multiple area high schoolers were competing and finished in the top 10 in multiple events like barrel racing, breakaway roping, girls cutting, goat tying, pole bending, steer wrestling, and tie down roping. In all of that action we were able to retrieve your results for the area competitors.
Barrel racing had multiple competitors with a wide range of results. Lexie Lowery of Burwell took 1st place in Barrel racing with a time of 17.8 seconds and recorded 10 points. Brook Jamison of Ashby took 5th place with a time of 18.2 seconds and recorded 6 points. Madison Stracke of Stuart finished next at 6th with a time of 18.3 seconds and recorded 5 points. Brieann Schipporett of Ainsworth was not far behind as she finished 7th with a time of 18.4 seconds and recorded 4 points. Macey Vonheeder of Ainsworth made it in to the top ten as well finishing in 9th with a time of 18.6 seconds and recorded 2 points.
Breakaway roping also had some familiar names like Maddee Doerr of Creighton who won the event with a time of 2.6 seconds and a perfect 10 points. Also finishing in the top five was Brook Jamison of Ashby who placed 4th with a time of 3.5 seconds and 7 points.
Girls cutting was very competitive with Maddee Doerr of Creighton tying for 3rd place with a score of 70 and 7.5 points.
In the Goat Tying competition Maddee Doerr of Creighton continued her dominance by taking 1st place with a time of 7.2 seconds and a perfect 10 points. Talli Pokorny of Bartlett finished in 4th place with a time of 8.4 seconds and 7 points. Rachael Calvo of Bassett was not far behind finishing in 5th place with a time of 8.5 seconds and 6 points. Also, finishing in the top ten was Gracie Pokorny of Barlett who finished in 6th place with a time of 8.7 seconds and 5 points.
Pole bending had another familiar name in Brook Jamison of Ashby taking a 3rd place finish with a time of 21.4 seconds and 8 points.
Steer Wresting saw Zane Patrick of Bartlett finishing in 2nd place with a time of 5.4 seconds and 9 points. Talon Mathis of Atkinson finished in 4th place with a time of 5.9 seconds and a score of 7 points. Also, Tori Huffman of Burwell finished in the top 5 with a 5th place finish with a time of 6.2 seconds and a score of 6 points.
The final event with some top ten finishers was Tie Down Roping with Tori Huffman of Burwell winning the event with a time of 10.1 seconds and a score of 10 points. Not far behind was Kurtis Palmer of Madison who finished 2nd in the event with a time of 11.2 seconds and a score of 9 points.
