The Sixth Annual Bubby’s Race was held in Ewing on Sunday, May 29th during Ewing’s Funfest weekend.  The 5K run and 1-mile walk event kicked off at the football field with prayers led by Father Jim Kramper around the Circle of Hope, and special recognition of the 7 survivors present.  An additional recognition took place for Barb Peitzmeier from Bloomfield who was completing her 100th 5K race.  She offers us all additional inspiration to push ourselves for a bigger purpose!

The start gun went off at 9 a.m., with 303 total registrations, 88 runners, and 118 walkers participating from multiple Nebraska communities, and the states of South Dakota, Iowa, Colorado, Missouri, and Kansas.  The pace car was led by Pat Dougherty of rural Page.

Gene Sisson, Mike, Kassie, Bridget & Coni Wanser families, and Xtra Productions assisted with the event.  Also, a special thanks to Ewing Public Schools for the use of their facilities.  All help was greatly appreciated!
