O'Neill Community Foundation Fund Spotlight: Building Blocks

The O'Neill Community Foundation Fund continues to spotlight the projects they have helped support over their 10 years.

According to their website, Building Blocks for Community Enrichment, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1999.  They saw children separated from their biological families by hundreds of miles simply because there were so few foster homes in the area.  Their goal is to recruit, license, and support foster homes in Northern and Central Nebraska.  They aim to make Foster Parents successful by providing them training and support as they care for youth in our area.

The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund teamed up with Building Blocks to help recruit foster care families and host respite care activities back in 2010.  These events stressed the importance and the need for foster care families in the area as well as recruited and retained current foster families.

Building Blocks will host their 2nd Annual 5K Run / Walk & Kid Dash in O’Neill on September 12, beginning at 9:00 AM.  Help support this great organization by attending their event.  Day of registration will be available at Ford Park.  For more information on Building Blocks for Community Enrichment, call (402) 336-4841.
